Everyday Is A Bad Hair Day

I was supposed to get a haircut last week but hubby insisted that I leave my hair alone. I’ve been meaning to grow my hair long but it’s so difficult to resist the urge to cut it. I’ve always had short hair all my life, believe me, I’m in pain. I know that he’s longing to see me with long lustrous hair but he’s just too shy to admit it. So once more I’m giving it a try (for the nth time).

Wish me luck because I’m not really good in keeping the scissors at bay!

Oh So Random!

I seriously think this teaching job is the perfect most adequate job for me. Sure, it’s a pain in the ass to have seasonal work load (career and money-wise). But nothing beats the time that I get to spend with my kids every single day. I miss teaching but I miss being a mommy more. Sometimes, I feel bad because I have to leave the kids at home just so I could work. There are times that I’d be so infuriated and insanely jealous because my youngest son likes to be with his yaya more. So I’m grateful for the impeccable timing that I’m on leave from work.

I’m waiting for this pair to arrive. I ordered a size 9 but their sizes run one size smaller so if this pair won’t fit, I’ll try the freezing method to have them stretched. Its leather so I think it’ll work. Well, I hope! Renegade Folk is having a closing out sale. It’s too bad really because I like their quirky loafers. Not the usual flats you’d frequently see in malls. Theirs are, what’s the term again? Androgynous? I’m so tempted to hoard all their remaining flats, really.

And because it’s Friday and I’ve been diligent enough in all my responsibilities; I’m entitled to eat all the cookies I want. It’s calorie-induced day! Happy Friday, everyone! :)

September Hooligan

I'm missing someone badly. And one other thing too; I miss writing but I'm so darn lazy to write. So I'm posting photos instead (of what has happened over the last few weeks). BTW, I've just seen the Swedish film adaptations of Steig Larsson's novels last weekend. I love it! It's brutally good. Now, I wanna read all three books. ;)

 Okay back to the photos. Here goes!

Perfect timing :)

Holiday breakfast. Hhhhmmmm.

Because someone has been reaalllyyyyy bad.

Catching up with Jen and Bea at Cafe Mary Grace ♥

Started the "BER" months with my best girlies. :)

Something from Sweden too! (c/o Mommy Jen)
IKEA everyday! ;)

And one more reason why I love my job. :)

How's your weekend so far? I hope you're all having a great time. :)

To Cut Or Not To Cut (My Hair, That Is)

Is it just me?
 I think I look a lot better without hair.
 (Pardon my crappy duster)

Don't you think so?

Birthday Glory

celebrating my mom's birthday :)
manual baking 101: EPIC FAIL, my mom and dad, w/ the kids,
with hubby and Polie, my brother (who has autism), our detox juice
after consuming too much pizza and chips. :P

I might not have that picture perfect family but I love them all to bits.
Happy Birthday, Mame! We may argue and fight a lot but you still mean the world to me.
I love you so much and I’m grateful that you're my Mom. :)

Micoy, My Great Friend, An Old Soul

One of my favorite past times is observing people. And one of my few favorite people is an officemate of mine. His name is Michael Castillo, AKA Micoy or Pablo.

It's his 80s style why I am so drawn to him. I still remember the first time I talked to him, he's wearing a floral shirt and an old Casio watch with a built-in calculator. I said to myself, I like this guy. He's an old soul. He has this sick sense of humor, a witty mind and a quick mouth. Articulate and wise.

I like people who doesn't conform to society's definition of "what's normal". I admire people who stick to their own personal uniqueness and don't give a shit of other people might say or think about them.

And here is one soul I truly admire. :)

And one important thing I really admire about him is, he's true. He's not a nerd wannabe because he wants to be cool, he really is, one big nerd.

Buff Time Tuesday

I'm writing or rather typing this while waiting for my Dexter S5-E3 buff time to finish. I was thinking of going cold turkey on FB and be addicted to exercise instead, well let's see if it'll work. I'm sweating my ass off working out like a mad woman! And I need to finish a Palahniuk book that I've been reading when I was still pregnant! MOFO, I am soooo LAZY! I have 2mos and 6days left until our wedding day and I already stopped purging myself into eating cereals and oatmeal. So far I'm not craving for carbs anymore, but chocolates, uhum-- that's a different story. Good luck to myself!

An Open Letter

Dear Self,

I've been thinking a lot lately and realized that I've been inconsiderate. I’m really sorry I've been so hard on you and I mean that with all my heart. I promise to love all your flaws and to be proud of every scar. I’ll let you feel sad when you’re down, I’ll let you laze around when you’re not feeling well, I’ll love you wholeheartedly and I’ll be your bes-test best friend. I promise, from now on I’ll take good care of you.

My Feel Good Read

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Dexter Season 5 Pilot Episode

Dexter S5 Episode 1 is so freakin' sad! Now I have to wait for another week to watch the second episode. I can't even get a copy from our favorite DVD supplier. I like it better when I watch the marathon. :(

Polie's Seventh

Happy Seventh Polie Olie!

Having a hand of his birthday cupcake :)
